The Morgan Horse
The Morgan Horse is an American light breed, standing at 14 to
15 hands. The breed traces back to one foundation sire, Figure,
better known as Justin Morgan after his second owner, who took
him for a bad debt in 1795 at the age of two. He was foaled at
Springfield, Massachusetts and taken to Randolph, Vermont where
he passed the rest of his life, dying like Napoleon in 1821 at
the age of 26.
Morgans are ideal general-purpose saddle horses, but also have
enormous pulling power for their size and are capable of high
speed as roadsters.

This is the 1996 ladies park saddle champion Minion
Masquerade in her victory pass at the Morgan Grand
National Horse Show in 1996 in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. The mare was ridden by Cheryl Woosley and
is owned by Laura Mendelsohn.

World Grand Champion Park Harness Horse
This is the victory pass of the World Grand Champion Park
Harness Horse, Belle Flair, driven by Tom Caisse and owned
by Barbara and Arthur Jones at the Morgan Grand National at
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Park harness horses are shown with a four wheeled vehicle
and a driving snaffle bit with a half cheek and overcheck
or sidecheck. Horses are shown at a park walk, a park trot
and "show your horses". They are judged as a
stylish harness horse, with emphasis on performance, manners,
presence, quality and conformation, which is 40% in regular
classes and 50% in championship classes.

This is the victory pass of the World Champion Open Western
Pleasure Horse, Troubles Wild Command, ridden and owned by
Barbara Merrill at the Morgan Grand National at Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma.
Western pleasure horses are shown under western tack and
attire. They are shown at a walk, jog trot and lope, with
light rein, but still maintaing light contact with the
horse's mouth. They are judged on performance and apparent
ability to give a good pleasure ride with emphasis on
manners, gait, type and conformation, which is 40% in
regular classes and 50% in championship classes. Horses are
stripped of saddles in championship classes to better judge
conformation.

World Grand Champion Amateur Park Saddle Horse
This is the victory pass of the World Grand Champion Amateur
Park Saddle Horse, HMK Destiny's Echo, ridden to victory by
owner Lisa Howa at the Morgan Grand National at Oklahoma City.
Park saddle horses are shown in English tack with a flat
saddle, double bridle and the rider attired in a saddle suit
of solid, conservative colors with apppropriate hat.
Park saddle horses are shown at the park walk, park trot and
canter and are judged on manners, suitability, quality and
performance. As in the other Morgan Horse divisions,
conformation counts 40% in regular classes and 50% in
championship classes, where horses are stripped of saddles
to better judge conformation.

World Grand Champion Second Level Dressage Horse
This is the victory pass of the World Grand Champion Second
Level Dressage Horse, Wintergreen Fortune, ridden to victory
by Susan Garmier and owned by Woodland Stallion Station.
Wintergreen Fortune was also the World Champion Jumper, The
World Champion Low Working Hunter and The Reserve World
Champion Open Working Hunter.
Dressage is the French word for training. Dressage tests are
therefor designed to test training results. Horses compete in
a ring 60 metres x 20 metres in front of a judge or jury who
give marks for general impressions such as lightness,
impulsion, correctness and discreet use of aids.

Carriage Driving Horse, UVM Allegro, driven to victory by
Melissa Lambrecht and owned by Bittersweet Farm at the Morgan

This is the victory pass of the World Grand Champion Junior
Exhibitor Park Harness Horse, Highland Acres Command, driven
to victory by owner Stephanie Conner at the Morgan Grand
National at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Shown exactly like the open park harness horse, the junior
exhibitor horse is shown with the same equipment and at the
same gaits, with the exception that manners is in the
forefront of judging in junior exhibitor classes.
